Allah is with everyone!
Someone said, even with the unbelievers. I said, let me explain.
Allah's Nearness to mankind is several kinds. I'll mention two. Allah is Near to all mankind in a sense that He gives all food, clothing, health etc. Second type of Allah 's Nearness is to the Muslims only, He gave us Eemaan, He forgives our sins and mistakes, He made us Ummati of His Beloved Prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam). These are not enjoyed by the unbelievers. So, you can see the difference of the Nearness of Allah to Believers and unbelievers.
Nearness gives you an emotion that makes you feel in security.
For example, if a strong man enters your house to beat you. You are weak and scared. Right? But suppose, your neighbours says loudly "Dont worry i am WITH you". This gives you courage. [i am with you= this sentence gives you my nearness..make it a habit to say this to your loved ones when in problems and difficulties]
In the Night of Hijra, when Beloved Prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wasallam) and Hadhrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddeeq (radi Allahu 'anhu) were in the cave. Siddeeq e Akbar (radi Allahu 'anhu) was worried and tensed, because of the unbelievers who were looking for them to murder them Na'oozubillah. To calm Siddeeq e Akbar (radi Allahu 'anhu) Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam) said, "Allah is with Us"
This sentence brought so much relief to Siddeeq e Akbar (radi Allahu 'anhu). Why? Through this sentence, the Nearness of Allah was realised!
Now, people wanted to find Allah. Some tried to worship the statues to find Allah, but they didn't. Some worshipped trees, some worshipped animals, some worshipped moon, sun , stars! But they couldn't find Allah ! The moon, sun, star, animal, tree, stone, none of them gave the address of Allah
Where to find Allah ?
So, it was said, ask Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam). When we asked him about Allah, we got an answer "Allah is Near". This is mentioned in Quran e Paak,that when a servant asks you (oh Beloved Prophet) about Me (Allah), Say to the servant I am Near ! So Allah is Near ! From this we know that, no one knows the address of Allah, except His Beloved. So if you want to be near to Allah, be near to His Beloved first, he will take you to Allah !
Allah is Near, to everyone! So we now return to our first sentence of this note.
So, if Allah is Near, why can't we see Him? The answer is that, He is too too near, thats why we can't see him. Someone asked how? I said, take the example of your eyes. Its on your face, its too near to you, but you can't see it! You can't see your own eyes! Its too near to you. So, Allah is too near to you, that's why you cant see Him
Someone said, i can see my eyes in a mirror. I said yes, and in fact you can see Allah too..in the mirror! Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam) is a mirror in which you can see Allah! Hadhrat Abu Hurayra (radi Allahu anhu) said, he has seen Truth (Allah) walking in the streets of Madeenah Shareef. How? He saw Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihiwa sallam) walking in the streets of Madina Shareef! Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam) is a mirror in which you can see Allah
Take an example to understand this better. In the morning, if you want to know whether you sun has risen or not, do you look at the sun directly or at the light of the sun which falls on your wall? Of course, you look at the reflection of light of the sun. Similarly, Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam) is the reflection of Allah, in Zaat and Sifaat (in Being, and Attributes). If you want to see Allah, look at His Beloved, and His Beloved's true Beauty has been hidden behind 70, 000 veils. His true beauty was NOT seen by the Sahabas. His true beauty is hidden behind 70, 000 veils.
Someone said, if Allah is so close, how do we commit sins then? The answer is that, Allah is Near, you are far! How? You are ignorant of His Nearness, that's why you are far. Example: i had a piece of diamond with me, and a thief is beside me. He is waiting for me to sleep so that he can steal it from me. I fell asleep. He searched for the diamond everywhere but could not find it. In the morning, i showed him the diamond. He asked, where had you kept it? I said, IN YOUR OWN POCKET. You did not know it was with you. So, the diamond was close to him, but he was far from the diamond. Similarly, Allah is Near and close to us, we are far from him due to our ignorance.
Obtain knowledge. Knowledge is a door through which the Nearness of Allah is felt. And Nearness of Allah, make you a Muttaqi..you obtain Taqwa..consciousness of Allah
Allahumma swalli 'ala Sayyidina Muhammadiwn wa 'ala Aali Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin kama touhibbou wa tardwa bi-an tusalliya 'alayh
